Many in the Tarot fraternity believe that one must receive the first Tarot Deck as a gift . I personally believe that the first Tarot Deck one receives should be a gift and preferably from the Master who teaches you Tarot. I have been following this and gifting a Tarot Deck to all my students as their First Deck as I believe that this way I give them my blessings and initiate them on this path. Many Tarot Readers feel that the ‘Must” part may not be correct . Although this is a very good practice (Tradition) of receiving a Tarot Deck from your Teacher or from another Tarot Reader as it gives significance to that Deck however,it is not a must. This tradition was started a long time ago when Tarot Cards were difficult to come by and the only way to get a Tarot Deck was to know someone who could provide you a Tarot Deck, but now these Tarot Decks are easily available on Internet, Shops etc. In Case you bought your first Deck yourself and you gel with it well i.e. your frequency matches with that Deck well then by all means you can use it.
